The room was dark and dingy. The only light that was provided was a small lantern in the corner of the room. The entire room smelled heavily of smoke and burning wood. But there was weak smell of fresh bread. There was only one person in the room and he was toiling away in the corner making dough and putting dough in the wood fire oven. it felt like it was 100 degrees in there but the baker did not seem to mind. You could hear the over crackle as he put more wood into the oven. At the end of the say the baker tasted one of his loafs of bread. He was satisfied. He was done for the day and he poured a bucket of cold water onto the fire. The room instantly began to feel cooler. The baker then cleaned up his work station and walked up the stairs exhausted but he was proud to get through another day of work.

In America today there are about 3 million gay people and they are still being Today in class we watched a movie. I thought it was a very interesting movie and it sounds like it will end well. It started out very depressing when they were talking about their parents. Also when they were talking about how it was little kids that were traveling. I really makes your appreciate all the opportunities we have in the USA. It also makes you think about all the stuff that have some people in the world have never used electricity or ever seen a car. In the USA there are a lot of opportunities that they would never have if they stayed in Africa. But in this world we will never know what is beyond the horizon and all we can do is hope that we as a race can make earth a better place for everyone. Discriminated. People in the USA need to be more caring to others. Just because they are not the same as the majority of the population does not mean that we should treat them differently. They are just as much human as any other person on this earth. In Russia things are getting worse for gay people. There is now a law there that if you are openly gay you will be put in jail. Even if you are not openly gay but you are gay you are treated very differently over there. In the United States individual states have changed and are starting to be more open to gay people. In the end though it does not matter if the government allows gay marriage what really needs to be changed is how people treat other gay people.

my first week

When I started my first week of school. I did not know what I should expect. I did know that I was a little nervous about that week . I did not know many people and I was unsure of what to do when I came in. but then I realized that almost everyone here or that has been here has went through the same experience. And that surprisingly made things a little easier. One thing that I was nervous about and I don’t know why I was but I was afraid that I might not be able to open my locker. But it only took me one try and I got it open. I was a little afraid of was that I did not know anyone but I am sure that over time I will make new friends. I know that I will love it here and I am very excited to meet all my teachers and to meet new people.

Goals for a new year

Hi welcome to Logan Elliott’s blog. I am currently a new student to john Carroll. I am freshmen and I have created my blog for school assignments. I love anything to do with animals and am very supportive of any animal saving projects. I also like to travel sadly I have not done very much though. I have never left the country and the furthest that I have traveled is Florida. In January though we are going to do a cruise that leaves from Miami and it going to Mexico, Belize and Honduras.

This year there are a lot of goals that I would like to accomplish. One goal that I would like to complete is in English I would like to greatly improve my righting ability. Another goal that I would like to do has to do with me being a freshmen. I would like to meet new people and make new friends. I would also like to meet some of the international students and maybe become friends with some of them. The last goal I would like to do has nothing to do with school. I would like to be more sociable I would like to not only meet and make net friend but I would like to do things with thoughts friend.
